Volume partner Eric Heiman has had a busy month on the public speaking circuit. First, he waxed (pun intended) poetic on Alex Steinweiss and the history of LP sleeve art at the Contemporary Jewish Museum as part of the “Focus on Design” gallery chats series for their recent exhibition, Designing Home: Jews and Midcentury Modernism. Then, he interviewed design legend Michael Schwab to a standing room only audience at the Hattery. A quick summary of what you missed: Eric’s first record bought with his own money was Billy Joel’s “Glass Houses”(!) and Michael Schwab lived in the Chelsea Hotel for a while(!).
